† Know Before You Book

What is Lviv, Lwów, Львів, Lemberg? Some say the next Prague, Riga, or Kraków, meaning one more destination destruction for European and American revellers. We know better. The proud people of Lviv will not allow such antics in their own backyard. Our great city has been defended many times, it's tradition. Lviv is a museum city in which Ukrainian culture is king, testament to the genocidal brutality of Nazism and ultra-nationalism, decades of repression under communism, and endemic corruption. In recent years, however, the tide has turned.

The old ways of ethnocentrism are on the way out as Ukrainian youth espouses democracy for all, without prejudice of any kind. Lviv will become an ethnically diverse cultural crossroads once again. Hear remarkable stories about Lviv from the first years of King Danylo of Galicia and Volhynia 770 years ago to the here and now. Listen, as your guide reveals the corpus of Galician culture.

Remnants and ruins of regional conflicts and religious legacies have come to define modern Lviv. The same can be said of the dozens of boutique locales tucked away betwixt and between our characteristic cobbled streets. The contradictory atmospheres of Lviv old town inspire all who are fortunate enough to wander through it. This classic tour of Lviv is the perfect way to experience them.

† Classic Tour Lviv reviewed

"We booked very last minute as in on the morning of the tour. Maria met us at our hotel and she accommodated regarding our request to see a few places that with hindsight she would have included anyway. Parts of the tour were spent bouncing in and out of museums on Rynok Square with rests for street food and 2 maybe 3 bar stops for drinks. We also went underground at least 4 times and saw probably all the churches. It was more of a personal take on Lviv than a regular tour which we really liked."
